Alight Students and parents, it’s always our goal here at Summit Students to make information as easily accessible as we can for all of you, and we feel like we’ve got a great system in place! It’s time to sign up for our Text Messaging System.
How it works is this: You go to your respective link, sign up and WHAM! You’re in. We won’t send you 36 messages in 2 days, on average 2/week (at most!) and all information goes into a secure website. Sounds great doesn’t it??!! Yeah, we think so too.
Went to a local mall tonight to relax, drink some coffee and hang out with students. What we didn’t realize was what was about to take place in a taxi on our way home. Our cab driver, Martin, procedes to tell us that he is an amazing singer, and he wants everyone in the car to know about it. (BTW, he called his small yellow cab “bumblebee.” Thank you transformers.) Halfway through his 2nd song, I soon realized that I was missing out on a quality chance to get some good video footage. His disclaimer before performing his 3rd song to everyone in the cab was this “This is a studio, not a taxi!” What a ride indeed.
Click the video title to see more videos of our trip so far. Today we head out to do some sightseeing, so we’ll make sure to get some footage of where we’re going for you.
Well, today was our first full day out and about in the city of KL…and it was great! Here are a couple of videos to show you where we’ve been today.
We had a great time last night eating dinner with the small group leaders at the church here in KL. All of these folks made this dinner for us, and we were so thankful.(Spence, you would have loved talking with them!) We had a great menu for dinner, which included Satay, chicken and rice, apple salad, and so much more. I think some of the students found a new love in Satay (covered in peanut sauce.)
After dinner, we had a time of getting to encourage the small group leaders there and spend some time worshipping with them. From all of the things that we’ve talked about with them and heard the Pastor and younger men and women talk about, this church is on the brink of becoming a church planting hub for all of Malaysia and beyond. God is raising up a generation of young men who have a passion for God’s glory and his people in Malaysia at Cheras. Pray for us, that we may encourage and spur them on in reaching KL and beyond for the gospel. Also pray for me as I preach tomorrow morning in their worship services.
It’s off to breakfast for us! We are headed to an orphanage today, then going to a local mall for dinner with some of our friends that we’ve met while we’ve been here.
